There are no longer any operational paddle steamers on this lake Several paddle steamers can be seen in this picture of Neuchâtel taken back in 1953 Left to right - "PS Yverdon" "PS Hallwyl" "mv Cygne" "PS Neuchâtel" and "PS Fribourg" but...... click here for details of an active proposal to restore PS Neuchâtel to operational status

However, there are sailings on the lake by motor vessels throughout the year and during the Summer some continue via the canals to the adjacent Lakes Murten and Biel
