VERY IMPORTANT
Owing to the Snowdonia National Park being CLOSED due to the Coronavirus pandemic..........
..........the Sherpa services along with most connections shown below have been WITHDRAWN until further notice

Please DO NOT ATTEMPT
to visit the area

Note the few remaining local bus services in the Conwy CC and Gwynedd CC areas are now for "essential"
(as advised by HM Government) journeys ONLY
AND NOT FOR TOURISTS !

Why not CLIMB SNOWDON or TRYFAN * starting from

all year round
Gwynfor Coaches "S2" Sherpa
mid-winter

BETWS-Y-COED
or CAPEL CURIG
using the

      "S4" Pen-y-Pass - Beddgelert
    Gwynfor Coaches Sherpa
      "S97" Beddgelert - Porthmadog

sherpanetwork
  B E W A R E ....................... !!!
Car Parking near Snowdon is very limited and can be expensive if a space can be found

The alternative is to leave your car behind and use the
Snowdon Sherpa Bus network

It is possible to climb Snowdon from Betws-y-Coed or Capel Curig
every day throughout the year
(by Sherpa to the start of most of the tracks)

(except Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day)
NOW just £2 single to or from Pen-y-Pass
If you plan to go up and/or down the Llanberis, Watkin, Rhyd Ddu or Snowdon Ranger paths
then ask the driver of your first bus for a £5 Snowdon Sherpa Day ticket
or a £6.80 Red Rover Day ticket if intend to return later using any of the alternative non-Sherpa journeys

LATEST..........
So far,  no official announcement has been made regarding Sherpa services for Summer 2020
However,  based on the fact Gwynfor has a five-year contract with both Conwy CC and Gwynedd CC,  it s reasonable to assume the number of "S2" journeys will again be "doubled" from winter 2019-2020

The timings for the extra "S2" summer journeys below ASSUME there are no changes from 2019 and the times for connecting "S4" journeys to and from Beddgelert reflect the current revised timetable which was amended in November 2019 to take into account diversions due to work in connection with the 'new' Caernarfon by-pass

It is still unclear if the new late afternoon "S4" Sherepa (from November 2019) will continue to operate to and from Llanberis Interchange (depart 1705)..........
..........OR if it will again terminate short at Pen-y-Pass before providing a later journey from there back to Porthmadog (last year it departed at 1810 after connecting off the 1730 'all-year-round' "S2" Sherpa from Betws-y-Coed and the 'summer only' 1750 "S2" Sherpa from Llanberis)..........
..........at this stage the EARLIER times are shown on this page (see below) but will be updated as and when any confirmation is made public - based on previous years this may be only a few days before the summer service actually starts !!!!!

At this stage,  the information below should be treated as "the likely level of service to expect" - but it should be sufficiently accurate to help you make PROVISIONAL plans for your visit

You are strongly advised to re-visit this page nearer the time to see if there have been any further changes for Summer 2020,  both to the Sherpa timetables and also any connecting journeys

Please bookmark and re-visit this page nearer the time to check if there have been any further changes

Why not go up one track and return down another ?

Remember - if the weather is bad or you find the going is too hard - turn back

09.10 - Sherpa journey
There is barely time,  except for the fastest climbers,   to go out and back by this route - other times are shown for anyone who wishes to go out by one path
and return by another - Slower walkers have the option to go out via the much less busy westside Rhyd Ddu or Snowdon Ranger paths
- returning via the Miners path or the PYG track to Pen-y-Pass where there is a later "S2" Sherpa at 18.10 back to Capel Curig and Betws-y-Coed
Alternatively it is possible to just go "part" way up the track
latest times should always be confirmed from the individual timetables on the official Gwynedd CC or Conwy CC websites  and any subsequent amendments thereto

TRYFAN *   by the  Ogwen track    from   Llyn Ogwen
If the weather is bad or you find the going is too hard - turn back

There is insufficient time for all but the fastest walkers to climb to the summit
unless you set off on the early weekday "6B" journey at 0700/10
Alternatively, why not just take a stroll part way up or visit the falls ?

However it is possible to walk from there to Llyn Ogwen and if you are quick even go just "part" way up the track
