Car Parking in Snowdonia is very limited and can be expensive if a space can be found This is especially so at Beddgelert The alternative is to leave your car behind and use the Snowdon Sherpa Bus network which connects with the Welsh Highland Railway at Beddgelert (for both Porthmadog and Caernarfon) Please note the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog Railways do not run every day outside the main Summer period nor does every train run on the dates the railway is open You are strongly advised to first consult the official WHRly and FfRly websites to confirm the train(s) you want are actually scheduled to run on the date of your proposed visit then use the timetable below to find the times of the connecting Snowdon Sherpa bus(es) LATEST.......... first see the VERY important note above     The Welsh Highland Railway 2020 summer season WAS PLANNED TO START BEFORE before the end of the winter Sherpa timetable     The "connections" shown below are based on the winter 2019-2020 period and as such are liable to minor changes from the start to the summer Sherpa timetable in early-April ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     Storm "Ciara" - followed by two further weekends of flooding - has again caused major damage to the trackwork on the connecting Conwy Valley railway line     A replacement bus service is operating in lieu in similar BUT NOT QUITE IDENTICAL times to the advertised trains --- you are strongly advised to either confirm direct with 'Transport for Wales' or use the local Conwy Valley "19" or "X19" connecting bus services (as included on this website) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~     TforW's own website now states "Disruption is expected until 23:59 18/04/20" --- Subsequently revised to "September 2020" Please bookmark and re-visit this page nearer the time for confirmation and to check if there have been any further changes This "unofficial" website attempts to show what Sherpa Services are available and to encourage greater use includes some suggested "trips round Snowdonia - without your car"

I M P O R T A N T   ! ! !    The Welsh Highland Railway runs different timetables depending on pre-planned anticipated traffic levels       Basic service - two trains each way per day   "blue" dates     Basic service - two trains each way per day but an earlier start from Porthmadog   "yellow" dates     Peak service - three trains each way per day   "red" dates     1000 - This train from Caernarvon runs on "blue" "yellow" and "red" dates   "most" dates   Note specially - there are NO WHRly trains on some off-peak Mondays and Fridays and a special timetable operates on "odd" dates also regular timetabled trains cease after Saturday 2nd November REMEMBER to FIRST check the official WHRly website to confirm the train(s) you want to travel on are actually scheduled to run on the date of your proposed visit then use the Sherpa timetables to find suitable connecting Snowdon Sherpa journeys
